Sports First Aid :: ITC First Aid for Sport.

Coaching.

The Sports First Aid Coaching syllabus is designed to give athletic coaches skills in dealing with emergencies that occur during play, practice or training.

The course also meets the current recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.

The 7 hour course is unit 1 in first aid for sport.

Unit 2 completes a level 2 award in first aid for sport, listed on the national qualification framework (NQF).

It is possible to do unit 2, as a stand alone course if you already have another first aid certificate, (which is still in date), from another organization or training provider.

Unit 2 syllabus covers, spinal management, management of head guards, helmets, gum shields, head injuries (detail) when to move or not move, Maddox questions, return and cease to play decisions, (detail, expands outline from unit 1), Sport first aid kits.

Courses are eligible for funding in Scotland by ILA (individual learning accounts) and ReAct, vocational training scheme in Wales.
